\nwho\u2019s got lots of opinions and plenty to say.
\nWe discussed what we both like to see in a horse
\nHis requirements and mine were different of course\u2026
\nHe likes a clean throatlatch and a long skinny neck,
\nand prefers that their hocks are set close to the deck.
\nShort backs and hard feet and clean slopin\u2019 shoulder,
\nand a gaskin that looks like it swallered a boulder.
\nHe likes a short face and a big ol\u2019soft eye,
\nand says these are the horses he\u2019s likely to buy.
\nAnd when he\u2019d completed his lengthy discourse,
\non all of the attributes of the quality horse.
\nHe asked my opinion, and where do I start?
\nAnd I said that I\u2026.just want horses with heart.
\nI said I want heart above all the other.
\nI don\u2019t care if he\u2019s Smart Little Lena\u2019s full brother.
\nOr just how much money that his grandmother won,
\nor whether he\u2019s roan, palomino or dun.
\nBut give me a horse with some grit and some try,
\nand some heart and some guts and that\u2019s one that I\u2019ll buy.
\nAnd I\u2019ve found it\u2019s the same with a woman or man\u2026
\nthe good ones won\u2019t quit you when the shit hits the fan<\/p>\n
